*Preview* Our Collection Views & More Testing

First of all we want to say a big thank you to everyone who took part in our first community test that concluded a few days ago. Next, we want to give you a preview of how your Collection will work on TCG Home — which you can try out as early as next week if you join our group of testers. Let’s get started!

Our First Community Test

This week, we concluded our first test with volunteer testers on our Discord server. 25 participants submitted over 170 individual items of feedback, some of which we were able to immediately integrate into our development process and many more which are going to shape what we’ll do going forward. We also learned a lot of things about the testing process itself, so we continuously strife to improve every step of the way.

The test focused on the different tabs of our single card view: Management, Trading and Insights. Overall, the card details page was really well received. It was invigorating to see how well our testers already liked our first approach to this part of the design. Our team is happy with most of the functionality and we’re happy to move forward with our prototype and integrate the feedback we’ve received.

A Different Approach to the Collection

One important insight we gained early in our research was that it’s impossible to create the perfect selection of card info for every user. What people want out of our platform is just too different! Some people just want to scroll through their nicely displayed cards to really see what they have while others need trading information like condition and market price, and yet others prefer deck building info like the types and cost of a card.

For this reason, we made the decision to launch the collection view of TCG Home with several different views, each catering to the specific needs of a certain type of user. This way, you can always select which view has the information that you need!

Testing the Hypothesis

Now it is time to put our concept to the test and see if this approach actually delivers what all of you need! That’s why our next test is going to focus on this aspect of the platform. So why not join our group of testers and let us know what you think? It’s really easy! Just head over to our Discord server, use the “Browse Channels” function above the channel list to find the #about channel and click the Button there to assign yourself the Tester role. That’s it! We will let you know when our next test begin and then you can still decide if you’re available for that test or not.

Becoming a tester is really the best way to help us push development further and directly influence what TCG Home is going to look like — and get previews of what your experience with the platform will look like. While these tests are optimized for Magic, they are also the perfect venue to let us know when some part of a feature is not useful or missing for your favorite TCG. That will make it easier for us to expand to those games in the future!

As always, thank you so much for your support. We believe in one digital future for TCGs and we’re glad you are along for the ride. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach us at or on our Discord server.
